Hailing from Vancouver, emerging musician, Devon More, has taken the music industry by storm. She is raw, relatable, & her sound evokes raw emotions out of her listeners. For me, she is a pioneer of this new generation of artists that are captivating audiences with their ability to produce genre-bending hits. Although I’m new to her sound, Devon has impressed me. Now, she debuts on our pages with her latest album “Sky Is Falling”.

“Sky Is Falling” is a 12-track masterpiece that proves to be the magnum opus for the burgeoning star. I loved the overall feel of the album from the vocal delivery to the production. Devon shines from a songwriting perspective and her lush melodies have made this album the soundtrack to my life. From start to finish, the singer gives an introspective look into the life on woman who is reflecting on her personal life and the world around her. Sonically, the album has an alt-pop/rock feel and it is laced with elements of blues and funk. Overall, the album is refreshing and one of my favorites of the year.

My favorite songs were “Beautiful Bitches”, “Come Over”, & “My Body”. To me, those songs show More’s versatility and exceptional songwriting. To accompany the album, More also released a new single 'Catch That Moon (Song For David)', a song about a relationship that burned hot and fast. This is what she had to say about the song:

"They say that opposites attract, and that was true for David and I,' says Devon. "We were totally enamoured, and wholly incompatible. Our relationship didn't last, but our deep respect for one another did, despite our vast differences - imagine that? In divisive times like these, 'You do you. And I’ll be me.' is a helpful and powerful sentiment. Be like David (and I): respect human biodiversity."
