Hailing from my home state of North Carolina, burgeoning star, Vinnie-Dangerous, has always been a topic of discussion amongst people in the local scene. For me, he has this rawness that can’t be matched, and he has continued to pour his heart and soul into his records. Vinnie is truly versatile and that is so vital in today’s industry. His ability to write, rap, and produce has made him an anomaly. He is becoming a pioneer of this next generation of rappers. After impressing me with his previous albums “Yes, I Am A Dreamer” & “Dream To Escape Hell”, Vinnie-Dangerous returns with his groundbreaking album “Dream 'Til It's Over”.

“Dream 'Til It's Over” is a triumphant album that completes his dream trilogy. Over the 12 sonically pleasing records, Vinnie discusses his upbringing and transition to fatherhood. As we get older, evaluation and reflection become a huge part in further shaping us as people. Vinnie does just that on this album. With his smooth yet punch vocal delivery, he expresses a range of emotions that feel relatable. Life is about growth, and Vinnie shows that your upbringing can help you shape a positive future for those come after you. For me, Vinnie seemed to take his own experiences and produce an album that his son can use as a roadmap to live a positive future.

When it comes to the overall sound, I found the album to be very cohesive. Each song builds on the one before to establish this reflective story. My favorite song was “Left Alone”. The self-produced single dives into a topic of self-discovery over somber production. With an ambient feel, Vinnie’s introspective lyrics shine as he discusses his journey to self-enlightenment. For me, this song and the rest of the album have changed my outlook on modern music in a good way. I have been searching for music that touches my soul and this did. The complete album is set to release April 30th so make sure to download!
