JustFresh Takes Us On A Sonic Journey On His New EP, “What’s It Worth?”

When it comes to delivery and wordplay, emerging rapper/audio engineer JustFresh is in a league of his own; he is hungry for success and can't be put in a box. With several years of experience, he immersed himself in music and has mastered the skills to be considered a quadruple threat. JustFresh is a producer, audio engineer, lyricist, and rapper; in a time where many outsource to create songs, JustFresh stays true to himself and does it all in-house. Now, he debuts on our pages with his latest EP, "What's It Worth?".
"What's It Worth?" is a complete breath of fresh air when you compare it sonically to the current state of Hip-Hop. There are no gimmicks when it comes to this. The EP is full of raw energy, witty lines, and double entendres, and JustFresh does a great job crafting a project highlighting why we all fell in love with this genre. For me, the standout records are "Lemme Paint A Picture" & "This That One." On "Lemme Paint A Picture," he shines with punchy vocals while riding over his bouncy production; lyrically, this is my favorite on the album. "This That One" is one of the three instrumentals on the EP. I love the spacey feel and enjoyed how he took elements of EDM to progress the beat. The buildups and breakdowns on this were perfect, and I just loved the overall pace of the instrumental.
"What's It Worth?" is his third release of the year. Unlike the two instrumental-only EPs released at the top of the year, "What's It Worth?" showcases his skills as a quadruple threat (rapper, lyricist, producer, and engineer). Responsible for everything heard, the EP features seven original JustFresh songs that draw from various musical inspirations, including the rap flair of Big Pun, old-school disco and soul, Latin music, classical music, and EDM and its subgenres. With such an eclectic foundation, "What's It Worth?" takes listeners on a sonic journey. So, if you want "REAL HIP-HOP," put this EP on for a spin.
