Over the past year, Arizona-based singer/songwriter, Drew Harvey, has garnered success with his innovative ability to blend emo-Rap and R&B. After releasing the infectious ‘Spinning’, Harvey is back with his new offering ‘Another Life’. The record is raw and honest, and it takes an introspective look at heartbreak within a relationship. What stands out about the emerging artist has to be his maturity. Although he doesn’t have many releases out, I have continued to see his growth vocally, and his production selection is always top tier.

‘Another Life’ is built over catchy guitar-driven production that blends trap 808s with intoxicating rap-sung vocals. With this being the second song I’ve heard from the rising star, I have to say that it is his strongest. His lyricism is honest and vulnerable, and it takes a closer look at a sudden heartbreak. In addition to being incredibly written, the song truly shows Harvey’s versatility and potential to be a household name. Drew is finally carving his own lane, and he is making music that needs to be on everyone’s radar.

Lyrics That Stick

“Now she wanna move far away from love

And she wanna pass on another try

Throw it in reverse to the way it was

Leave in me the dust for another life”
