Recently, it has felt like there are so many emerging artists coming out of Canada, and I must say One Hope only further proves that. Hailing from Canada, One Hope is here to bless our pages with his first release of 2021 titled 'emotional softie'.

Using his signature 'Dark-Pop' sound, One Hope uses his confessional lyricism to plea to his love for not caring about him. As I listen to the song, I can sense the anguish he feels for not seeing love reciprocated. It's not too often that artists express the hurt of being over-emotional when it comes to being in a relationship, but One Hope finds the sweet spot in this topic. Although the lyrics steal the show, the use of the acoustic guitar within the production only makes the song hit more. This song is definitely one of my favorites of the year. If you are in need of some therapeutic music, give this a spin.

Lyrics That Stick:

“I broke down last week

In the back of my car

What's wrong with me?

Have I gone too far?”
