A diamond is forever. Isn’t that how the saying goes? Jake & Finn bring a very relatable topic to the table in their latest single, “Diamond” and every girl on this planet can resonate.
The song follows their perception of this “It Girl” if you will. She’s everything they’ve ever wanted to be. A diamond in the rough, while they’re measly crystals.
This song as so many have been brushing on this topic refers to wanting to be as marvelous or beautiful as another woman. The way they use a very soft-spoken range in the song leading up to the unreal harmonies in the chorus is exquisite. The sixties element within the sound gives it a rather unique quality and rareness as well.
You can feel the resentment or marvel that revolves around this “It Girl.” Diamonds are made under pressure so really if you think about it, anyone can be a “Diamond” if they really want it.
