After a three-year hiatus, the king of lofi-R&B, Reece, is back to claim his throne with his new single ‘Generational Heartthrob’. When I listened to this well-crafted song the first time, I was caught off guard by how smooth the melodies were. Although he only has a few releases, the rising star always seems to make music that pulls our heartstrings.

In ‘Generational Heartthrob’, Reece’s lyricism is confessional and it’s a personal narrative on how the music industry isn’t always what it seems. In addition, the Chris Sclafani production appears to be the perfect match for his vocals. As Reece sings over crisp guitar tones and alternative drums, he delivers hypnotic melodies that will have you singing from start to finish. Although many artists can’t spend three years away from their careers, Reece has the creativity and talent to continue captivating us even in his absence.

Lyrics That Stick

“I grew up hearing that money don't mean everything

Same time promised that I could have God's forgiveness for a fee

Was told that I could have Hollywood dreams if I just believe

But I know nothing in this world is ever truly free”
