Jon Waltz - SAFE

The first time I heard Jon Waltz was in 2016 after his song ‘Justified’ blew up on SoundCloud. I fell in love with the song and thought for sure that he was about to blow. To my surprise, and I’m sure his, although his song has now amassed 2 million listens on the platform, the momentum didn’t continue.
I’m very happy to see, however, that the quality of his music has not varied over the past few years. With his newest release, ‘SAFE’, I think I have a new favorite song from Waltz. On the hook, he sings in a light voice, and then drops his voice and absolutely kills the verses. He speaks on the expectations that he’s felt throughout his career, including expectations like I mentioned in the last paragraph. He says that he hasn’t changed, just grown, and that he’s doing alright. And as a fan, I have to say that I am, too.
Lyrics That Stick:
“Just put the money in the bag, in the safe
We’ll be safe, you’ll be safe”
