Have you ever listened to a song or an album and immediately feel seen? If so, there’s this beauty in being fully immersed in someone else’s art. Recently, I came across an indie & alternative music project called The Flashpot Moments.

With roots that trace back to New Jersey, Minneapolis, and Boston, The Flashpot Moments is the studio project of Boston-based singer-songwriter, guitarist, & drummer Tim Cawley. With years of experience and musical influences, Cawley has crafted an identity that elevates the music industry as a whole. The Flashpot Moments is an over-the-top idea that has brought heart and emotion back to music. Now, The Flashpot Moments enter our page with their anthemic album “Bombastic Fantastic”.

“Bombastic Fantastic” is a fiery album that details how Cawley took a spree of bad breaks and transformed them into a triumphant rise from his own inner darkness. Over the eight-tracks, we see Cawley battle demons, struggle with faith, and fight for liberation. Each song builds on the one before, and the cohesion makes the story feel so much more relatable. Sonically, the project was exceptional, and I personally loved the vocal delivery on each track. If I could describe the album with one word, I would say that it is “raw”.

My favorite songs from the album were “Reclamation” & “Go Figure”. “Reclamation” is an exceptional record that is laced with engaging melodies with deep lyricism. For me, the record is about reclaiming your spirit, and I feel as if it’s about strengthening your faith. “Go Figure” is more of an intimate record that has a rawness and discusses perseverance. This song is my personal favorite and I loved it from the sonics to the lyrics. Overall, the entire project is flawless so make sure to stream it below!
